Rare gravure antique mezzotinte du président ventes exceptionnelles Zachary Taylor par John Sartain

We are pleased to be selling thousands of early engravings, lithographs, and prints from the incredible collection amassed by Winfield Robbins (1840-1910) of Arlington, Massachusetts. After his death in 1910, the collection was donated to local institutions where it has sat for the last 100+ years. This listing is for a rare original mezzotint engraving of President Zachary Taylor . Based on what we have found online , this mezzotint was done by John Sartain after a drawing done by Captain Eaton. It measures about 5.25” x 4.5” and the sheet appears to have been trimmed . It was attached to backing paper with the center of the backing paper open so you can see the back of the print . On the back of the print is a Robbins collection stand and pencil writing that reads “ Genl Taylor, Very Rare”.
